Matthew Hall was born in Bradford and has been studying singing, dance and drama since the age of 8. He trained at the Yorkshire School of Performing Arts Stage 84, Leeds College of Music and the National Youth Theatre.
Matthew has appeared in leading roles in musical theatre including Seymour in ‘Little Shop Of Horrors,’ Danny in ‘Grease’ the Tin Man in ‘The Wizard Of Oz,’ Kashoggi in ‘We Will Rock You’ and Baby John in ‘West Side Story’.
Amongst many great theatres, he has performed at the ‘Edinburgh Fringe Festival’ and in theatre in Hamm, Germany.
Matthew's television work includes ‘Emmerdale’, ‘A Touch Of Frost’ and ‘My Parents Are Aliens’. Most recently he has been seen playing young arsonist Sam Myerson in ITV1’s ‘The Royal’, Rufus Ingram in three-part drama ‘Unforgiven’ starring Surrane Jones and Scott Mackay in the last series of ‘Heartbeat’.
He has also recorded BBC Radio plays including ‘Mummies And Daddies’ in which he played lead Jacko alongside Gaynor Faye and ‘Waterloo Road’ star Katie Griffiths. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys writing and directing his own television drama’s and like the real ‘Mark Owen’ loves writing and recording his own songs.
